CATALOGUING

Rationale

This Cataloguing Policy has been created so that consistency can be maintained as Library Coordinators come and go. It is also a reference point for current Library Coordinators, as well as other library staff.

Consistency is important as it pertains to student access. Ensuring MARC records are complete and standardized allows students to become familiar with what to expect when searching Destiny. Ensuring physical aspects of processing (eg. spine label, barcode placement) allows students to find items with ease, as well as the librarian to scan books quickly (including when taking inventory).
