Every year in April, TCIS Learning Commons hosts "Library Week" with a host of games and activities to entice people to visit the library and explore what we have to offer. The 2023-2024 Library Week was from April 8-12. We enjoyed some really fun activities!
Monday- Color Bookmarks
To start Library Week this year, students could color new bookmarks which were laminated for them to keep forever. Below you can see some of our middle school bookmark creations!
Tuesday- Book Character Day
Book characters have escaped and are roaming the school! Students helped by finding them and returning them to the library to get a prize. They also got a second one if they knew what book the character came from!
Wednesday- Library Scavenger Hunt/Library Movie Night
Students could come into the library and complete a scavenger hunt to win a prize. Also, we hosted a movie night in the evening where we watched the movie that the students voted on- Hunger Games!
Thursday- Blind Date with a Book
For this event, students could choose a book blindly. The books were wrapped in paper and only a sentence about the books was provided. Students could then check out the book. Some books have a prize inside!
Friday- Book Puzzle Day
Each homeroom has two puzzles to put together during homeroom time! Whichever class sends a picture of their completed puzzles to the librarian first gets a drink early next week!
