Secondary Library NovelQuest
NovelQuest is a new and exciting activity that we have implemented to help promote some of our newer library materials to our students!
NovelQuest consists of three competitions throughout the school year- one in November with our Morning Calm Nominees, one in February with a selection of new books, and one in April with a selection of Novels-In-Verse.
This competition is done in conjunction with another school in Korea- GSIS. Each school has students form teams of two or three players. Each team works together to answer questions about the books they have read. Teams are awarded points for each correct answer. The points are tallied up and each school has a winning team. But that isn't it! The schools are also competing against each other! So the school with the most points also wins!
The questions are set up similarly to the questions which are used in elementary Battle of the Books, so that the style and feel is quite familiar to our students who competed in that tournament in elementary school.
Students can use this link to sign up with their team or use the QR codes on the NovelQuest posters around the school!

Secondary Library Week
Monthly Library Activities
Each month we have an activity in the learning commons to promote literacy. Some of the highlights from the 23-24 School Year so far have been the 2 Line Horror Stories and the Christmas Book Tree.
Be sure to check out the Monthly Library Activities page to see other fun things happening in the learning commons!
Summer Reading Challenge (Middle School)
Studies have proven that students who read over the summer months are able to hold onto the knowledge that they have gained over the school year. For this reason, we have a summer reading challenge for our students who have finished grades 5-8 over the 2023-2024 school year. This challenge is to read at least one book and hopefully a total of 8 books from June 3 until August 10. This is being pushed out to students through their English Language and Literature classes. Below you can find the QR code to the Google Form. It is also linked there, so you can click on the QR code and it will take you to the form to fill out.
Happy Reading!
